The Institute is committed to supporting the development and improvement of the integration of 21st Century learning skills and technology in Jewish schools. We provide schools and educators with consultations, webinars, presentations and research. Our team also works at staying on top of trends and emerging research as well as develop innovative tools and resources for educators. To this end we founded and facilitate a community of practice in educational technology called YU 2.0.

Second Life Takes Years off Mine!

Well, in case you couldn't guess from the title, I have been experimenting with the virtual world of Second Life and have come away with a few conclusions.  First of all, I feel like a dinosaur.  The frustration level of not knowing what to do and how to navigate the various 'worlds' makes me feel like my mother must have felt when they introduced electric typewriters.  The frustration built as I realized that my kids or the students in my school would probably be able to figure it all out in minutes and the scavenger hunt that took me hours to navigate (and I did not succeed to locate all of the treasures) would probably take them a matter of minutes.  I didn't ask them to try...I didn't wa...
