This effort is being coordinated by Noam Davidovics- ndavidovics@ohrchadashbaltimore.org

The Online Video Mishna Project is a cross region project designed to facilitate the creation of an online explanatory video for each Mishna in Shas, and to catalog their locations in an open publicly accessible location.
This project has 3 goals 1) To spur the creation of online educational videos on Judaic subjects. 2) To create a valuable educational resource 3) To allow students or entire classes, to display their mastery of the Mishnayos that they learn, by contributing to the project.
Contributions have already been cataloged from The Ramaz School, Yavneh Academy, and by the new Yeshiva, Ohr Chadash Academy of Baltimore.
The recordings can be actual live video made using a webcam or camcorder, or can be made using screen capture tools (also called screencasting) such as the free CamStudio application (http://camstudio.org/ ), the web based Screenr program (http://www.screenr.com/) or other pay tools like Total Screen Recorder ( http://totalscreenrecorder.com/ ) and Camtasia (http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/ ), or any other tool a contributor is familiar with.
A very exciting tool is the free ShowMe app (http://www.showmeapp.com/) available on the iPad, which provides a great tool for teachers and students (even non-techy ones) to easily create new videos and post them online for sharing, using the iPad as a recordable interactive whiteboard.  To view a simple tutorial on how to create a "ShowMe" video on the IPad for the Mishna Video Project go here: http://www.showmeapp.com/sh/?i=15367

The cataloging is currently recorded in an online Google Spreadsheet that anyone can access and edit.  Don't worry about messing up the spreadsheet as all edits are version controlled, so we can always go back to a previous version.  Feel free to add in your name or class into the list or you can email ndavidovics@ohrchadashbaltimore.org with your claimed mishnayos. The spreadsheet can be accessed by going to this link:  https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmduIBjeIdKOdGxKT3hzZUJSeWd1MV9MdnZhSE9Wdmc&hl=en_US

For now, this spreadsheet will serve as the catalog for the project, both for claiming and entering new videos, and for finding videos already created.  At a later date, a dedicated website will be set up to facilitate greater ease of use for contributing and educating.

If you have any questions or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to email the Project Coordinator, Noam Davidovics, at ndavidovics@ohrchadashbaltimore.org
