As Jewish educators, we often have occasion to teach the words of Rashi, the quintessential medieval Ashkenazi commentator of both the Bible and Talmud. This two-part series will focus on placing Rashi in his historical context and will spend some time analyzing his exegetical methodology. Our goal is to be able to bring this interesting information directly into our classrooms.
